Kyle & Mallory: Macon Engagement Session

I am so excited for Kyle and Mallory’s wedding tomorrow! I can hardly believe the time has already arrived for their big day. I love so many of the shots from their session that it was hard to narrow it down, but I did my best! Mallory was kind enough to give me a little insight into how they met and how Kyle popped the question. Check out their sweet story below!

How they met: We actually went to the same school, Tattnall Square Academy; but we didn’t know each other then. He was a Senior when I was a Freshman or Sophomore, but we knew of each other. We actually “officially met” at a mutual friend’s 4th of July party and have been together ever since. I actually didn’t really want to go to that party since I worked all day and had planned to go out of town. Luckily, a friend convinced me to go! When Kyle and I both left the party, he asked me for my number. I obviously gave it to him. He said and I quote, “I’m going to call you in an embarrassingly short amount of time.” He called about an hour later and asked if I’d like to go out sometime. The rest is history, I guess!
How he proposed: Kyle proposed on January 9th; two days before my birthday. A couple of Christmases ago, he bought me a gift certificate for a massage. I never used it. I was saving it! So he booked the massage for the 9th, which was a Saturday, for my early birthday. We had planned to go to dinner that night to celebrate. I now know the massage was scheduled so that he could go pick up the ring from a safe at his parents’ house.
I got dressed to go to Downtown Grill and as we were walking to the door to leave, he stopped me. He wanted to really look at me and tell me how pretty I looked. Then right there, in my living room, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so in shock it took me a second to realize what was actually happening. I obviously said yes and ugly cried a lot. I called my parents who were very excited. My sister, however, was in Charleston where she lives, and working. She’s in the medical field so it isn’t abnormal for her to get called in on the weekend. My sister and I are extremely close, so I said I wasn’t going to call anyone else until I could tell her. We got to Downtown Grill for dinner and waiting for us was both sets of our parents, my grandmother, my aunts and uncle, my 3 best friends (my bridesmaids), Kyle’s brother, sister-in-law, nephew and of course my sister.
Hands down the biggest surprise of my life! It was perfect because we had our private moment together, but then we were able to celebrate with family! Perfect in every way.
